I’m happy to announce the birth of our second child, Elaine Harper Cho!  She came into the world January 20, 2015 at 12:34 AM.  Mommy and baby are at home and doing well.  Nina is excited to be a big sister, though I think she expected the baby to do more once we got her home.  She had toys ready for her to play with, but unfortunately newborns are pretty much cute potatoes that eat, sleep and poop on a two hour cycle.

As a writer, people are always curious what I’m reading.  Here are a few reading recommendations from books I’ve finished recently.

To Rise Again at a Decent Hour by Joshua Ferris.  I’ve always been a fan of his books because this guy can make anything sound interesting.  He could write a book about grass growing, and it would be a gripping and insightful read.

Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami.  This is a Japanese writer I’ve been reading quite a bit of lately.  Many of his books have a very surreal quality about them, think Being John Malkovich or Spirited Away, but his latest novel is much more grounded in reality and a fun read.

We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler.  This book is about a family that adopts a monkey for a short time as a psychology experiment and how it affects the family dynamic, most notably the children who think of her as the sister they lost.

As 2015 gets started, take a moment to look at the conventions we’ll be attending this year listed on the left hand side of the web site.  Hope to see you there.

With your help we’re looking to fund a colorist for Little Guardians.  Lee’s doing a great job adding extra content for patrons, sneak previews of pages in progress, and hosting live streams while he draws.

Thanks again!
