After you have given your kid an orb that can sense his fear and is stuffed with countless dangerous demon spirits ensnared by untold generations of grandpas, is attachment issues really that much to add to the bargain? :3
On the cast page, Soma has a spirit wolf, not a spirit puma. Is this multiple summons? Ret-con-o-mancy? Subira’s animal? Or am I just reading too much into it?
Hey. Just to clarify, if you check out the big fight at the end of chapter 1, Soma has a Spirit Wolf helping her out. The Spirit Cat seems to be mostly bothering Subira.
And on Page 23 when Subira mistakenly assumes the Panther belongs to Soma and Soma replies “No”, Soma is responding to both assumptions “No, the Panther isn’t mine.” and “No, we do not own them.”
This is made clearer on page 25 where Soma tells Subira the panther has chosen her.
I hope we’ve been helpful in answering your question. Also, sorry if we just spoliered it for you and you were having fun speculating.
Don’t you dare be afraid, boy! You’ll kill us all with that damned fear of yours and then nobody will ever love you!
Way to give the kid attachment issues.

True. All in all it seems like the kind of present Bilbo gives – a ghoulish, wraith-attractign ring of hideous power. Happy Birthday, Frodo.
Blech, I truly detest lag, especially when it makes me think I haven’t clicked the button!
Hang on, random thought that I only just noticed, but refers to page several back – http://www.littleguardianscomic.com/comics/chapter-2/teachers-and-students-page-23/

Thanks for the clarification. Definitely not spoilered, as the speculation had degenerated into wild confusion. And thanks for fixing the double post.
I’m loving the juxtaposition between the two teaching philosophies. Great stuff!
