Elk is definitely one of my favorites. I know what you mean, our primary cast has the disadvantage of having their roles deeply planned out, slower to start but ultimately bigger payoffs. While Elk and our secondary cast are more free to run around and be awesome right now with less stings attached.
I love how oblivious Elk is. For anyone who plays a bard in D&D, this is how bards should be (are there even bards in D&D anymore; I’m dating myself, oh well). Because if you were self-aware, you would run away from the dangers your sword- and magic-wielding companions face. Instead, you sing them songs of encouragement.
So music doesn’t soothe the savage beast?
I swear I love this guy more with every page.
Definitely. You guys have a real skill for secondary characters. Go you!

Yeah! Thanks for the kind words.
I was hoping that demon would shoot him the eye like that old man in the bar. Ah, well

Yes there are still bards. I play one occasionally. She’s pretty caught up in herself too.
Did they get added to the abominable 4th ed? Or do they only linger in our beloved 3.5?
Yes! I love how Elk happily plops himself down to get comfortable before playing while everyone else is battling the big demon.
Is Elk single? I don’t see a ring. Can I please marry Elk?
Yeah, that’s what I figured. Nothing like getting an anger demon to unleash it’s wrath at a useless target.
