I found the last line of paragraph 3 interesting: “…cannot be recreated or redistributed without my prior written consent.” Does this mean there’s a widespread legal system in the world of LG, that would enforce & bring to trial people breaking this rule?
…or is it not really enforced – and more of a polite request? IE, anyone could copy this guy’s work, but it’d be frowned upon, and one should feel bad for doing so. (Sort of like filesharing nowadays.)
The way I imagine it, it’s like the early days of natural science when new animal species were being discovered all the time and scientists got credit for it as ‘discoverer’ even though the native people already knew a great deal about the animal. It’s obvious Ed and I like to play with modern concepts in our fantasy setting, I would assume Sir Thistlewhite is staking a claim on being the first to document many of these creatures. It made me laugh to make it sound like a copyright notice.
So excited
That should be ‘Foreword’, not ‘Forward’.
Doh!
We’ve since discovered it’s more accurately called a Preface and has been updated accordingly.
Yes. a foreword is supposed to be written by someone else.
and forward is to go not backwards.
I’m learning so much.

Lee is right. That line is mostly just a joke. Thanks for finding it interesting!
