Why would you offer one a banana? Those teeth are clearly carnivorous. I imagine you’d have much better luck with a rodent of some sort.
In the name of science!
Hang on, this is a webcomic with (so far) frequently absurdist humour. There are demons that spontaneously attack villages, and quacks hailed as great healers. At what point did logic begin to matter?
The logic of offering a troll a banana? You know I was kind of joking when I exclaimed “in the name of science” right?
I thought the banana line refers to their physical similarity to a large primate. As Gangler pointed out, the teeth look more carnivorous, so the line makes sense, “don’t offer one a banana.” Because they probably wouldn’t like it and would be more interested in eating you.
Really the stones required to attempt any kind of peace offering would be impressive. They’re very imposing creatures. Unless you’re Thistlewhite I can’t imagine anyone’s looking to give them the Jane Goodall treatment.
