Last fall we wrapped up Chapter 4 and went on a planned break. What was originally going to be no more than 6 weeks with a fantastic guest artist posting an all-new Little Guardians side-story, turned into 6 months with no posts of any kind. I’m sure more than a few of you have wondered what happened. With our guest artist, it was a simple matter of something important i.e. job/life/family…etc. came up and we respect that. We still plan on having that side story told, for sure, I look forward to having them back when they’re ready to go. That guest spot is theirs.
With us, it was more of the same. My wife, Sam and I had been planning a move across town and last fall we decided to make it happen. In this market, we expected it to take a lot longer to sell our house. But we ended up accepting an offer on it within weeks. So we looked for and found a house we loved, much closer to a bunch of our comic-making friends in town. And then began what has turned into a 4 month chapter of my life I will try hard to forget but probably never will. All I can say is buying a house today is NOTHING even close to what it was like pre-mortgage crisis. Something we didn’t expect and are still paying for. As of this blog post, we are 2 months and counting living out of suitcases in my family’s guest room with our lives sealed away in boxes. As you can imagine, this is not an ideal environment for fostering creativity and self expression.
Little Guardians is a huge part of my life and I would never give up on it but for months now, I haven’t been living my life. Hopefully, that is about to be changing here very soon. And no one is more eager than we are to get back to normal.
